We just spoke with Stefan. The mobile phone works better than the satellite one
.
One of the crew's machines broke - the Chevrolet K-5's front axle and winch gave up.
The "Daihatsu" can still sort of go on its own. The main crews went on.
The K-5 will be evacuated with no external help - it sort of runs, the main problems are the river fords. The good thing is it's not to far away from the main road, but it's still tricky and the crew is nervous.
There's also a UAS with another crew, waiting for evacuation - promoters have been requested to help with this, unfortunately the wait will be long - here it is, the real adventure began...

Yesterday the whole platoon finally regrouped on the road.
We managed to sleep a bit and reached the base camp.

An hour and a half ago I managed to get a hold on Stefan on the satellite phone.
All are safe and sound, the machine can move on its own. They are located in the last camp, 100km away from Piter. Tomorrow they're going to Piter.

Stefan managed to reach me as well. Long story short - he's ok, alive and kicking, as well as all the crew. All are fine, the machines are not write off's yet, tomorrow they are heading for Moscow (huge bumper to bumper traffic today, not a good idea to go on the road now). He said that a lot of machines were total write-offs after the race...a huge amount of failiures and break ups...He flies back to Bulgaria on June 15th...More details when he's back, and more PICTURES too... >>>Последно редактирано от Goblin; 30-06-08, 23:03.Коментар
